THE BRONX - Dozens of senior citizens descended on City Hall today, voicing their anger over proposed budget cuts to senior centers around New York state.

If Gov. Andrew Cuomo's (D-N.Y.) proposed budget is enacted in its current form, some 105 centers could be shuttered statewide, including 22 in The Bronx. The budget would slash $25 million from a program that funds many centers.

At the rally, some outraged seniors said they'd have nowhere to go for important programs and services if the centers were closed.

Data indicates that some 65 percent of New York's seniors live below the poverty line.
