MODEL LETTER FROM AGENCIES
date
Dear Councilmember___/Speaker Miller,
On behalf of the seniors and Board of Directors of the (name of
agency), I would like to thank you for making sure no senior centers close and restoring funding for the weekend meal program. Senior centers provide meals and services critical to the health and safety of the elderly in your district.
We know these were difficult decisions to make as the city still faces a fiscal crisis. However, I'm sure you will agree that senior citizens cannot afford budget cuts to their senior centers and to other services for the elderly. We look forward to working with you to ensure that the seniors in your district receive the assistance they require to age in place in the community with dignity.
Sincerely,
